Med student trains with doctor who saved her mother’s life - and her own

Twenty-three years ago, Dr. Jack Colman treated Mangayatgarasi Kugamoorthy, a recent immigrant from Sri Lanka, for a congenital heart condition that put her life and the life of her unborn baby in jeopardy. Today, Mangayatgarasi’s daughter Priyanka is in her fourth year of medical school and recently spent several weeks at Mount Sinai training with the doctor who saved her life in utero. Read more.
